RUGBY LEAGUE LEGENDS SET FOR CUMBRIA

Thursday, 19 February 2009 FORMER international rugby league stars are set to descend on Maryport this summer to feature in a charity Test match.

Top names such Garry Schofield, Paul Newlove and Tommy Martyn will be donning the Great Britain jersey once again and gracing Maryport ARL&226&8364&8482s pitch in aid of the Life for a Kid charity. The game is part of a three match test series between Great Britain All Stars and a New Zealand All Stars team. Player/coach Carl Hall will lead the New Zealand side and will have such players as ex-Bradford winger Tevita Vaikona and former Leeds star Willie Poching on his side. GB legend Schofield is the player/coach of the side and ex-Wigan great Gary Connolly and former Salford coach Karl Harrison have also featured for the All Stars in the past. The Maryport Test will be played on Saturday, June 20, with admission on the day being &194&1635 for adults, with accompanied children free.

They will not be the only stars on show as top international referee Steve Ganson will be the guest speaker at a dinner, following the game.
