Italy comes to Chester to raise money for childrenrsquos charity

A LITTLE taste of Italy is coming to Chester for a fund-raising event to generate cash for the Butterflies charity which empowers street children

in New Delhi. Sara Clegg is organising the February 18 event at Donato & Sandro&rsquos Italian restaurant in Brook Street featuring James Bazley, a professional Medieval jester entertaining, table magicians, Italian songs and a fun quiz on Italy. [ There will also be a small charity auction with items every one can afford. The evening will be topped off with &ldquoa really lovely&rdquo Italian meal. Sara said: &ldquoI visited Butterflies in November taking with me with me blood pressure and blood sugar monitors, stethoscopes, 280 tooth brushes, 150 combs, nail scissors, individual First Aid bags as well as pens, pencils and schoolbooks. &ldquoI gave Butterflies &pound1,500 in cash and with the other money we went to the wholesale markets and purchased sweaters, t-shirts, jeans, socks and flip flops.&rdquo The money was raised after a successful &lsquoIndian Night Under the Stars&rsquo themed evening in Dorothy Bates&rsquo river garden in Sandy Lane last September which raised &pound1,700. Sara said of the latest event: &ldquoThis is an ideal night for those wanting a special Valentine&rsquos Day treat. I know there is a recession but people still need to cheer themselves up and this really will be a fun night at an affordable price.&rdquo
