Helping Out highlights some of the many charitable events and activities going on in the Charleston area.

Submissions should be sent to . =========================================== Water Missions International is hosting two events in the Charleston area during March to spread awareness and act against the global water crisis. The Charleston-based organization works to provide clean, safe water to people in developing countries and disaster areas. The events coincide with the observance of World Water Day on March 22. The third-annual Walk for Water on March 21 offers participants a chance to carry empty pails that can be filled with dirty water at the halfway point along the 3.5-mile route. The walk symbolizes the experience of millions of women and children around the world who must walk miles every day to fetch drinking water for their families. The walk begins at 9 a.m. March 21 at Cannon Park, 129 Rutledge Avenue, in downtown Charleston. The cost is $10.
