a well-earned half-term break Then there are plenty of events to keep you entertained &ndash from festivals to bonsai pruning and even a carrot-eating contest. JESSICA FLYNN reports THE first Cardiff Vegetarian Festival kicks off tomorrow at Mackintosh Hall, Keppoch Street, Cathays, Cardiff, from 7pm to midnight. Coinciding with National Vegetarian Week, it will start with a knit-your-own-muesli world record attempt, aiming to beat the current record set by the Tujunga hippy commune in California in 1978. Admission to the evening of vegetarian food and live music, which also includes the All-Wales Carrot Eating Championship and an afternoon of tree-hugging, is free. BOULDERS climbing centre in Tremorfa, Cardiff, will be helping people of all ages get fit with have-a-go climbing sessions. The centre will provide introductory sessions as a high-adrenaline alternative to the conventional gym work out. Sessions are suitable for everyone and there will also be a family barbecue.
