THE new Babinda Harvest Queen likes to dress up and do maths.

Taleesa Keily, 17, could not be any prouder to be the small sugar town&8217s newly crowned ambassador. She won the title out of eight girls during the festival, which drew more than 2000 people, on Saturday night. "It&8217s great to be part of the community and you become good friends with the other girls and to uphold the community spirit of Babinda," the aspiring accountant said. "It&8217s a fun event and everyone looks forward to and to dress up and be pretty." Bridgette Atkinson, 17 was crowned Miss Personality and Zoe Crane, 17, as Miss Charity. Princess co-ordinator Natalie Satchwill said the girls had been fundraising since March and raised more than $19,000.

"It was an awesome night. We had fantastic participation and the parade was massive and even the rain didn&8217t dampen the spirits," she said.
