Fierce battle expected for the charity shield today

Simon Mccarthy Soccer 20th February 2009 IT was all smiles today as the Charity Shield was unveiled with Wolves president Brian Niven and

Clinton coach Aaron Jeffry were presented with the shield from Gladstone Trophies. The Charity Shield is scheduled as an annual event whose first outing is today at 6.30pm. The pre-season match-up normally has no meaning but this year there will be a fierce battle for the shield. The two Capricorn League soccer teams who are playing at Wolves home ground will be raising money for relief efforts for those affected by floods in north Queensland.
