Area business briefs Estate planning event slated in Ashland

May 28, 2009 Seminar on estate planning set for Tuesday ASHLAND -- Ashland University and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, North Central Ohio Council

(formerly the North Central Ohio Planned Giving Council) will present a free seminar from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Ridenour International Executive Education Center in the Dauch College of Business and Economics building at Ashland University. Financial planners Richard Katz and James Hardgrove will discuss recent law changes that allow people and families to shield assets for family or charity without expensive or complex planning. The Partnership for Philanthropic Planning North Central Ohio Council is a regionally based partnership led by Ashland University and Samaritan Hospital and supported by the Ashland, Richland and Wayne County community foundations, and more than 25 other charitable, business and professional organizations. Toledo-based Dana hires CEO from Cleveland TOLEDO -- Toledo-based auto parts supplier Dana Holding Corp. is bringing in a new chief executive from a Cleveland industrial parts maker.

Dana on Wednesday named James Sweetnam as its president and chief executive. He comes from Eaton Corp., a maker of electrical and hydraulic parts and systems for the auto, truck and aircraft markets.
